COVID-19 Arrangements (updated 25 April 2022)
Key Actions
- Our student and staff will follow their normal curriculum timetable.
- promote good hygiene standards by cleaning hands more often than usual and on arrival and before and after eating, and after sneezing, coughing - washing hands thoroughly for 20 seconds with soap and water and or use of approved hand rub/sanitiser
- promote the ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’ approach with tissues widely distributed throughout the school
- ensure classroom windows are open at times throughout the school day to create natural ventilation and make use of carbon dioxide monitors in classrooms to ensure adequate ventilation
- in cooler weather windows will be opened just enough to provide constant background ventilation and opened more fully when unoccupied to purge the air in the space (adjustments will be made according to readings on the carbon dioxide monitors)
- sanitise the tables when another year group is coming into the room immediately after them
- staff and pupils sanitise/wash hands on arrival at school and on re-entry after break & lunchtime
- outdoor play equipment is returned to the sanitising buckets at the end of break & lunchtime
- digital equipment is sprayed with digital sanitiser after use
- clean frequently touched surfaces often using detergents and antibacterial wipes
Use of communal areas:
We will:
- supervise circulation around the school and ensure staff and pupils follow the 'keep to the left' procedure for corridors and stairs
- where possible, ensure that toilets do not become crowded by limiting the number who use the toilet facilities at one time
- allocate cloakroom pegs so that year group cohorts keep their belongings (coats & bags) in an allocated area
Break and Lunchtime Arrangements
We will:
- designate year group seating areas in the dining hall at break time
- only seat one year group cohort at a time in the dining hall at lunchtime
- increase outdoor supervision at break and lunchtimes and where possible make use of our extensive grounds
- distribute play equipment which will be cleaned after recreational use
