Ethos, Vision & Values
At Corbridge Middle School we value all members of our school community and we all strive to be:
- Successful learners, who enjoy learning, make progress and achieve
- Confident individuals, who are able to live safe, healthy and fulfilling lives
- Responsible citizens, who make a positive contribution to society
Children are at the heart of Corbridge Middle school. We want every child to feel happy, inspired and capable of achieving their potential. Together, we nurture every child and value their individual contribution to our vibrant school community.
We aspire to be a wholly inclusive, dynamic place of learning with happy, confident, ambitious and caring pupils and staff who are proud about what they achieve in all aspects of their life.
We aspire to know every pupil personally, offering high quality specialist teaching that maintains and ignites pupils’ enthusiasm, widens their interests and allows them to develop their full potential.
We aspire to teach a relevant and inspiring curriculum that is clear about it’s intent, implementation and impact. We provide a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities both in and after school that all pupils can partake and benefit from.
We aspire to think and act creatively so that all our pupils are provided with a broad range of opportunities to inspire and enhance their own success, during a time where they experience considerable and wide ranging intellectual, physical and emotional development.
We aspire to ensure that our pupils achievements match the very best schools nationally so that when all our pupils leave us they are resilient, independent and reflective learners who achieve well academically, socially and personally and are fully prepared for the future.
We aspire to invest significantly in our staff, enabling them to access outstanding continued professional development so that we are able to recruit and retain the very best staff.
We aspire to nurture and support our pupils in their development through the important middle school ages from 9-13.
- Community engagement
We aspire to actively engage parents and the community so that they are able to participate in the life of the school and the children’s educational experience and to be an integral part of the Hexham partnership of schools, actively supporting each child’s individual journey in the best way possible for them to be successful in their future life.
We aspire to be financially sustainable by making our support systems effective and directly related to meeting the needs of our pupils and stakeholders. Our curriculum is linked to the United Nations sustainability Goals and teaches pupils about sustainability on our rapidly changing planet.
