Year 7 Literacy & Numeracy Catch-up Premium
The Literacy and Numeracy catch-up premium gives schools additional funding to support Year 7 pupils who did not achieve national expected standards in reading and/or maths at the end of key stage 2 (KS2).

Allocations for 2018 to 2019
Corbridge Middle School received approximately £1800 to spend on all of the year 7 pupils who did not achieve national expectations in Literacy and/or Numeracy at the end of KS2.
How did we spend our money in 2018-19?
- Creation of an additional group in mathematics in Year 7 to provide focused support
- Creation of an additional group in english in Year 7 to provide focused support
Impact of Y7 literacy and numeracy catch up premium 2018-19
- All pupils who didn't achieve 'expected' in summer 2017-18 SATs made progress during the year.
- 90% of these pupils achieved 'expected' in reading and 78% achieved 'expected' in writing.
- Of the 9 pupils who were not at 'expected' in maths, all made progress and 56% achieved 'expected'.
- 100% of Pupil Premium pupils who didn't achieve 'expected' in summer 2017-18 SATs were at 'expected' by Summer 2018-19 in reading and maths. 1 Pupil Premium pupil was still at 'developing' in writing.

How did we spend our money in 2017-18?
- A reading intervention programme: Read Write Inc.
- Creation of an additional group in mathematics in Year 7 to provide focused support
- Creation of an additional group in english in Year 7 to provide focused support
- Training of a teacher and teaching assistant: Success@arithmatic to enable targetted support and accelerate progress
- 1:1 teaching assistant support in some lessosn and intervention with literacy and numeracy throughout the curriculum
- Greater personalisation, monitoring and emotional support for key individuals
Impact of Y7 literacy and numeracy catch up premium 2017-18
- All pupils who didn't achieve 'expected' in summer 2016-17 SATs made progress during the year.
- 80% of these pupils achieved 'expected' in reading and 100% achieved 'expected' in writing.
- Of the 6 pupils who were not at 'expected' in maths, all remained below the expected level but have made progress.
- 100% of Pupil Premium pupils who didn't achieve 'expected' in summer 2016-17 SATs were at 'expected' by Summer 2017-18.
