Clubs and activities outside the curriculum
We are very proud of the range of extra curricular activities that are offered at Corbridge Middle School. The generous commitment of our staff ensures that the interests of all children are catered for. We arrange visits to outdoor activity centres, visits abroad and field trips. Music activities include choir, wind band and orchestra. Our musicians perform at a variety of special occasions and participate in local festivals. There is a wide range of sporting activities to choose from including netball, cricket, rugby, table tennis and football for girls. We have clubs for French, Art, Science, Dance and Computing as well as clubs which develop children's wider interest and focus of developing the emotional aspects of being a successful learner like Friendship Club. Over two thirds of our children participate in extra-curricular activities. Our Winter timetable for extra curricular activities is distributed to children in September. A further updated timetable is distributed at the start of the Spring and Summer term.

Friendship Club has been very popular since we returned to school. It offers the children an opportunity to come along and enjoy some time with friends, make new friends and have fun. The children can enjoy making crafts, play some board games and listen to music giving them social time together in a relaxed and informal environment. Here’s what some of them had to say:
‘Makes my day.’, ‘Friendship Club is epic!’, ‘Helps you when you get down.’, ‘Greatest thing in the world!’, ‘The fun doesn’t stop.’, ‘Hilariously amazing!’, ‘The best thing ever.’, ‘The best club ever!’, ‘The fun never stops!’

Recently the children in Friendship Club held a Talent Show which attracted over 20 entrants across Key Stages 2 and 3. We had some amazing talented pupils – singers, pianists, violinists, comedian puppet show – all the children were given great encouragement from each other as they watched. We are already planning our next event – watch this space – to find out what it is!!
