Tynedale Community Learning Trust
Updated 27-07-2017...
Thank you to those of you who responded to our recent consultation regarding the proposal for our school to establish The Tynedale Community Learning Trust, a multi academy trust. The ten schools ran a six-week consultation exercise between Friday 26th May and Friday 7th July 2017.
A comprehensive list of stakeholders was drawn up by the Project Steering Group and included: staff, parents, feeder parents, trade unions, the LA, local Councillors, The CE Diocese, other local schools and academy trusts, and regular users of the schools’ premises.
Written communication was circulated to all stakeholders, interactive presentations were given to staff, drop in sessions were held for parents and 121 sessions organized across the ten schools, where appropriate.
A full report on consultation was presented to a combined meeting of governors on Monday 17th July. Our governing body then privately considered all responses for our school and ultimately made the decision to continue with the process detailed on the timeline attached. Our governors feel that this is a positive step but that the outcome of the consultation by Hadrian Learning Trust considering a change to a secondary school would need to be fully understood before any final decision was made.
For clarity, we would like to confirm that there remains no intention to change the established progression routes or catchment areas for children through the Hexham Partnership.
Our governors remain committed to keeping all stakeholders updated throughout the conversion process.

We are seeking the views of our parents, staff and wider community on us becoming part of a Multi Academy Trust with other like-minded schools locally who share our visions and have similar values to ours.
I would like to re-assure you that our vision remains to provide the best quality of education for all, and in doing so maintain our unique identity. We have a great reputation in our local community and are so proud of our school and all we have to offer! We consider ourselves to be outward facing, seeking and sharing best practice to continually improve our educational provision. By formally joining together with other schools, we strongly believe that we can continue to improve our provision and that of other schools in our local community. Whilst some of these schools are currently in different partnerships, we continue to be committed to the success of the Hexham partnership of schools and to maintaining the choice of progression routes for all our pupils, from first school through to high school. The catchment areas of our schools will not be affected.
We nurture and support our children at a time when they need it most so that our children feel safe, both physically and emotionally, which allows them to develop intellectually. When our pupils leave us they are confident, independent and reflective learners who achieve well academically, socially and personally and are fully prepared for the next stage of their education.
Your views are very important to us, we want to fully engage with you and listen to your thoughts on our proposal. Please do take the time to look through the formal consultation documents accompanying this letter and come along to one of the drop-in sessions after half-term to discuss any queries or concerns that you may have. We look forward to receiving your completed consultation form.
