Christmas Fayre 2016
Our annual Christmas Fayre which took place this year on the 3rd December 2016 was delightful! Your donations on our non-uniform day, of chocolates and bottles, meant we had really well stocked tombola stalls - thank you! The abundance of children’s stalls was a feature at this years’ Fayre, with children across all year groups participating their ideas and time to provide some fun-filled activity or challenge. We were very pleased that the Whittonstall Band accepted our invitation and provided us with some seasonal music throughout the event.
The day was a huge success and raised over £2400—with Barclays Bank donating £893 as match funding for the raffle! A very big thank you to the PTA of Corbridge Middle School and all those who participated in the planning, preparation and helped on the day - it really is appreciated.
Following the Fayre, a silent auction was held in conjunction with Friends of Slaley First School, for two pairs of signed Newcastle United Gloves. The winning bid was £200 for both pairs. This has been split between the two schools and the proceeds will be put to use by the PE department at Corbridge Middle School.
Corbridge Middle School PTA have been accepted as one of the local charities being supported by the Co-Op until April this year. We are being given a percentage of money raised through the plastic bag charge but can also boost the amount we are given when our supporters use their Co-Op cards. So, if you have a Co-Op card please consider nominating us as your charity for 2017.
