​Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS)

​As part of the Year 6 Rivers topic we were discovering how to manage where water goes to prevent flooding. We were able to meet up with David from Millers and Simone from the Tyne Rivers Trust to look at the new Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) just outside our school grounds. The children were fascinated to hear about how the rainwater is filtered naturally before entering the local water system. We are really looking forward to seeing how the area develops in the coming years and the habitat it forms for our local biodiversity.
