Handwriting
We are excited to see the launch of our new handwriting programme accessible to any pupil at CMS on Google Classroom.
In an average school day, a child spends over half of their time engaged in writing tasks of some kind, with the assumption that by the age of 8 years children will have mastered the basics of legible, fluent handwriting.
However, there are many who struggle with this key skill and children with poor, slow or laboured writing can become reluctant writers and reluctant writers often become reluctant learners.
Unfortunately, there is rarely enough time in a busy school timetable to dedicate to handwriting practice. That’s why we are reaching out to parents and carers to support children with this easy to use, 15 minutes a day online programme. Video tutorials and worksheets guide children through letter formation, joining practice and exercises to improve speed, fluency and spelling.
Check it out by joining the Handwriting classroom on School360 with the class code which has been sent to parents via a message on SchoolComms.
