Enthuse Project takes Corbridge group to Newcastle University
A group of KS3 girl's are participating in a project with Newcastle University. Interactive Archives is a curriculum project that is taking place at Newcastle University and Corbridge Middle School over a period of 3/4 weeks. Students participating in the project have been presented with a brief to create digital, interactive exhibits based on archival content, using programmable technology. The project will culminate in small final exhibition held during July.
As part of the project, the students visited Special Collections in the Robinson Library, Newcastle University, where they looked at the C.P Trevelyan collection (the last Trevelyan of Wallington Hall). Back in school, they are now working on creating their final interactive exhibit pieces inspired by the collection - supported by the Special Collection’s Page Turners resource, allowing them to access the collection from the classroom.
The project also supports a Tyne Valley Enthuse Partnership which is funded by the National STEM Centre in York with the overall aim to engage more girl's in Computing/engineering subjects.
