Curriculum Intent - P.E.
Our high-quality physical education curriculum aims to inspire all pupils to develop a love of movement and to be physically active. The curriculum is specifically planned to provide opportunities for all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It is structured to provide developmental opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. We believe that sport and other physical activities build character and help to develop our school values: respect, care, responsibility and resilience.
During the four years pupils are with us, we strive to ensure that pupils develop their competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities as well as developing their ability to be physically active for sustained periods of time. We engage all pupils in competitive sports and activities and do our best to ensure our pupils lead healthy, active lives both in and out of school, as well as equipping pupils with the knowledge of the long-term health benefits surrounding physical activity. Our curriculum is entwined with intellectual and physical challenges which provide opportunities for our pupils to work as a team, build trust and develop their problem-solving skills.
