Curriculum Intent - ComputingThe Computing curriculum aims to equip pupils with the knowledge, understanding and skills to use information and communication technology responsibly, creatively and purposefully. At Corbridge Middle School, we teach Computing with computer science at its heart. We are passionate about ensuring that every child has access to a computing education which helps them to develop knowledge, skills and ‘computational thinking’ to enable them to make informed choices in our ever changing digital world. Using the three main strands from the national curriculum, Computer Science, Information Technology and Digital Literacy, we offer a planned programme of Computing education which builds upon previous learning and develops new concepts and approaches whilst teaching pupils how to navigate the online world safely and positively. At Key Stage 3, we also teach objectives from the Technology national curriculum to provide an efficient and creative way to develop children's knowledge, skills and understanding while motivating them to learn through stimulating, interconnected topics.
