Hello, I'm looking forward to starting Corbridge Middle. When will we find out which friends will be in our class and which teacher we will get? Emily
Will I get a y8 buddy and can they choose us?
Will I have a friend from my school in my class?
Hello Emily and Lucy!
It's lovely to hear from you! Congratulations on being the first visitors to our new Y4 blog!
We have been very busy talking to your Y4 class teachers and we know who is in your friendship group, and yes, we will be placing you in Y5 form groups with some friends. You won't find out who your form tutor is until September but you should feel reassured that you'll be in a class with some friends.
We will be posting a video of some of the rooms in school which you will be using along with a quick 'hello' from the Y5 form tutors - Mrs Parkinson, Miss Bell and Mr McKee, so watch out for that!
You will get a Y8 buddy and you'll meet them as soon as you begin here in September. Normally, we choose buddies for you as it's nice to get to know a new face and we have a fantastic bunch of older pupils who will be great at helping you to get settled in.
When will we get our journals?
And what can you buy in the shop and how many merits are they?
How many teachers are they in the school?
What great questions!
Firstly, you will receive your journals, along with your timetable, on your first day here in September. Your form tutor will explain how to use it and fill it in.
We have 21 teachers here at CMS and 10 support staff, so there's plenty of adults to help and support.
When you're recognised by a member of staff for completing a piece of great work or supporting our school values in some way, you will be awarded with a merit. When you have collected 20 merits, you will receive a certificate and will be able to 'spend' your merit points at our Remarkable Rewards shop. The items in the shop vary from stationery to kit bags and piggy banks! There's too much to list here. Each item has different merit point values and you can 'save' your points to buy a bigger item, or spend them for smaller items. It's your choice.
Thank you for replying,
I am desperate and luchia (my sister)has told me everything else.
Luchia said it was sad to hear you leaving
I am really looking forward to starting CMS.
I would like to know what sports we will do in September for P.E.
Thank you for your question - it's a good one!
In the Autumn term, you will cover football, hockey, table tennis and dance in PE. There are also different sports clubs at lunchtime, so watch out for those. Your form teacher will tell you all about these when you join us in September.
After Christmas, you will cover gymnastics, volleyball, netball, rugby and orienteering. Finally, in the summer term, you will cover tennis, athletics, cricket and rounders (which is lovely as the weather is always good at this time of year and we tend to use our lovely big field for PE)!
So, you're going to be very busy in PE, Adam.
hello i can't wait to join Corbridge Will there be a school cricket ,football, rugby team do you still have a teacher called Mrs Mole because she was my old teacher at Beaufront.
What a lovely message. Thank you!
In answer to your question, yes, the lovely Mrs Mole works here and you'll see her in September. I shall tell her you were asking after her.
There are lots of school teams for a range of sports and we do take part in competitions across Northumberland, so listen out for details when you join us.
Hello, I am so excited to join Corbridge Middle School and trying out lots of new sports and activities.I was hoping to start piano and was wondering if there were piano lessons in September? Alice.
Thank you for your question.
What a great instrument to learn to play - the piano! Mrs Fisher (our music teacher) will be very impressed. In answer to your question, yes, we do offer the opportunity to learn to play the piano. A specialised music teacher visits weekly and provides lessons to those who sign up. Listen out for details when you join in September!
hi i am Tashie i am looking forward to CMS ,will there be swimming in year 5?
Normally, in Y5, you would go swimming on Friday afternoons for about 6 weeks. However, because at the minute swimming pools remain closed, it doesn't look like we will be going in September. Once the pools reopen, we will of course begin our lessons again.
